Then there’s an oil spill and one whale gets the oil in its lungs :/ Anyways… You probably think I am a right freak writing about this!! Haha :) but I haven’t Posted a blog in ages…!

We are looking to work on project which begins with our event on 10th May where we invite Parish and Town Councillors to come along and learn how to engage young people, and help support us to hold some power and make things happen for ourselves in our local communities.

What we need is a name for this project….any suggestions?

Young people will be supported to consult with other young people, to create ideas about what they would like in their parish, to plan and organise events, set up groups, forums, young people’s committees, to make spaces for young people, to hold regular activities and sessions which young people want……be it dance, or a drop -in space, a youth shelter, a summer festival, a skate park…..whatever young people want and need, and whatever the Parish and Town Councils can support us with.

Ideas such as “Young, Local and Vocal” or “FoDCast; Make it Yours”…..or any other punchy ideas which could work are very welcome!!!!

Tonight’s Meeting…

Posted: April 19, 2012 in Uncategorized

I have just got back from Youth Forum. Today we talked about the police and what sort of things they could improve on. Although it was a bit
boring, some interesting conversations came out of it. Hopefully police officers will start wearing fluorescent colours; this should make them more approachable! So if you see an officer wearing bright pink trousers, you will know why, it was our idea!! Also in today’s meeting, we ate food… Crisps. I really enjoyed my packet of Prawn Cocktail crisps. Okay, this post is rather boring. Oh, and today we got given certificates of how many hours we had given to Youth Forum Meetings!! Here are the results:
Drum roll please…
In third place we have Ezme Evans with 38 hours (I think)
In Second Place we have Lorna Russell with 60 hours (i think)
And… In First Place we have (also known as the face of Youth Forum!) George Grindle with 63 hours. Well done everyone!! :) Hehe!
Bye!

Speed Dating

Posted: March 28, 2012 in Uncategorized

We all have just have a great time “Speed Dating” the councillors at the District offices! I really enjoyed it and found some really interesting things out about them! I really hope we will be doing this again! Next time, I will be prepared with more things to say!! I didn’t take any pictures of our time at the council offices. So, instead, please enjoy a lovely photo of an ex-forum member that some of you may know! Just to let you know, Olly does not do this all the time!! He only posed with my hat and tambourine for the purpose of the photo! ;)
